π Buckle Up, Here Comes a Game-Changer! π
In 2015, Kuala Lumpur witnessed the birth of a B-school marvel: the Asia School of Business (ASB). Dreamt up by MIT’s very own Professor Charles Fine, ASB, in collaboration with MIT Sloan and Bank Negara Malaysia, is not just any MBA program. It’s where experiential learning gets a mega-boost, or as P&Q puts it, goes “on steroids.” Five semesters, five major projects, five different companies. And guess what? In 2020, it was hailed as one of the top 10 B-school innovations globally. π
But why did I, after globetrotting and experiencing the Californian dream, decide to dive into this whirlwind of learning? Three words: Opportunity, Innovation, and Impact.
π Opportunity: Southeast Asia is the new El Dorado for venture capital. With VC investments skyrocketing and a unicorn parade led by over 35 companies, this region is the place to be. And who better to guide us than MIT Sloan and Bank Negara Malaysia?
π Innovation: Professor Charles Fine’s brainchild, this MBA program, is a blend of MIT Sloan’s rigor and Asia’s vibrant business landscape. It’s not just about textbooks; it’s about rolling up your sleeves and diving deep into real-world challenges.
β€οΈ Impact: Growing up in Malaysia, my heart has always been set on giving back. After founding an NGO to uplift underprivileged communities, being in Malaysia means I can continue to make a difference.
Choosing ASB wasn’t just about the program; it was about the people. The passionate, genuine souls working tirelessly to make ASB the crown jewel of Asian B-schools. And while California will always have a piece of my heart, Malaysia’s calling was too strong to resist (even if I’m still acclimatizing to the weather π ).
So, if you’re curious about my ASB journey, my roller-coaster career abroad, or just want to grab a coffee and chat about Malaysia’s best eats, give me a shout on LinkedIn. Let’s connect and make magic happen! πππ€
